Postdoctoral Fellow

The University of Texas Medical Branch
Galveston, TX

A post-doctoral position is available immediately in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at The University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, Texas, in the field of host-virus interactions and innate immune responses to Ebola virus. The lab research focuses on the regulation of innate immune signaling pathways by the ubiquitin system, evasion of immune responses by viruses, and regulation of virus replication by ubiquitination.

For further information on the research program, visit our website: http://microbiology.utmb.edu/faculty/Rajsbaum.asp.

The potential candidates should be highly motivated and should have a Ph.D degree in one of the following fields: Biology/Life Sciences, Immunology, Virology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology or Biochemistry.

The applicants should have a strong background in Immunology, Virology, Biochemistry and Cell Biology, and demonstrable experience using flow cytometry, modern biochemical, cellular and molecular biology techniques as well as animal models.

Research experience in immune signaling and ubiquitin assays is desirable but not essential. Previous experience in BSL3 would be a plus but not required. BSL4 training to work with Ebola virus will be available.

To apply, send your curriculum vitae and a cover letter explaining your interest in this lab and a statement of research with technical experience by e-mail to Dr. Ricardo Rajsbaum at rirajsba@utmb.edu.
