Postdoctoral Research Opportunity in Immunology for Autoimmune diseases at the University of Cincinnati

The Division of Immunology, Allergy and Rheumatology at the Department of Internal Medicine College of Medicine has one open position for a postdoctoral fellow to work on a NIH R01-funded research project: pathogenesis and therapeutics in lupus nephritis.

Candidates should have completed a doctorate level degree and have a strong background in immunology, preferably related to autoimmune diseases. The successful candidate should have documented success in research including publications in international journals on relevant topics. Compensation is dependent upon qualifications. Primary Duties

• Engage in appropriate training and professional development opportunities.
• May support the development of proposals for research-related funding and grants.
• Engage in the dissemination of the results of the research as directed by and with the support of associated faculty members.
• Communicate to project team progress and results of research activities ensuring that relevant information and issues in the implementation of projects/experiments are captured in as comprehensive and timely manner as possible.
• Play an active role in seeking career and research advice, both from the faculty supervisor and from other faculty members as well.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiar with mammalian cell culture.
• Experience with animal models of autoimmune diseases.
• Perform other standard molecular and biological techniques, i.e. PCR, flow cytometry, ELISA, Western Blotting, etc.
