The largest annual immunology event worldwide, the AAI Annual Meeting is where the leading researchers come to learn the latest in their field. With major lectures from some of the world’s most prominent immunologists, and oral and poster presentations of abstracts, IMMUNOLOGY 2019™ will feature cutting-edge developments from scientists at every career stage.

What are the registration fees?

What does the registration fee cover?
The registration fee covers entrance to scientific sessions and exhibits, the IMMUNOLOGY 2019™ Opening Night Welcome Reception (+ 1 drink ticket), the IMMUNOLOGY 2019™ Gala (+ 2 drink tickets), and the Meeting Guide. You may purchase the Full Scientific Program Book, the Abstract Book, tickets to a Roundtable, or Gala guest tickets when registering.
PLEASE NOTE: Your AAI Membership must be paid in full through December 31, 2019 to be eligible for the Member Rate. If you have questions about your membership status, or need to make changes to your contact information, please email members@aai.org.

Will I receive confirmation of my registration?
After you register, an immediate email confirmation will be sent to the email address you provided.
Will I be refunded if I have to cancel my registration?
We will be sorry that you will not be able to join us. A $75 processing fee will be deducted from all refunds issued for registration cancellations received by April 5, 2019. Refund requests must be submitted in writing, include the registrant’s confirmation number, and must be received by 11:59 PM (EST), on April 5, 2019. No refunds will be issued after April 5, 2019. Please email your cancellation request to meetings@aai.org.
What if AAI cancels the meeting once I have registered?
If the meeting needs to be canceled due to unforeseen circumstances, AAI will refund all registration fees (only).
If my plans change and I am unable to attend, may I transfer my registration to someone else?
Yes. If you are a member and they are not, the difference in the fee will need to be paid. If you are not a member and they are, we will be unable to issue a refund for any difference in the fee.

I’m a high school student or high school teacher, how do I register?
AAI offers complimentary registration for high school students (age 13 and older, accompanied by a registered adult, with school ID), high school teachers (with school ID). This type of registration will be done on-site only – no advance registration. To receive the complimentary registration rate, please bring a teacher/student ID card or letter signed by your department head, research advisor, principal, or teacher.
I’m with the press, how do I register?
AAI offers complimentary press badges to pre-approved members of the working press with appropriate press credentials and to freelance writers bearing a letter of assignment (on the publication’s official letterhead) from an editor.
Approved press badge holders are required to provide AAI with copies of all articles written about IMMUNOLOGY 2019™.
Complimentary press badges will not be issued to representatives from allied fields (public relations, public information, public affairs, scholarly journals or publishers). These individuals may register online and pay the applicable registration fee.
To apply for press credentials, please complete a Request for Press Registration.
When will I receive my badge?
AAI does not mail badges prior to the meeting. All registered attendees will receive an email with instructions on badge pick up prior to their arrival onsite. Please bring the email containing a bar code to expedite badge pick up when you arrive at the Attendee Registration Counter at the San Diego Convention Center.

Opening Night Networking Event
The Opening Night Network Event is back! Immediately following the President’s Address, registrants are invited to toast old friends, make new connections, plan their week, and enjoy a picturesque view of San Diego Bay. Light refreshments and a drink ticket are included in your registration.

This year’s Gala will be held at the USS Midway Museum, an iconic San Diego destination. On the flight deck, attendees can experience an array of restored naval aircraft, from the workhorse of Vietnam to helicopters that picked up Apollo space missions. On deck, a band will perform dance hits surrounded by the 360-degree panoramic view of the San Diego skyline. Below, on the hangar deck, World War II aircraft can be viewed, cockpits sat in, and flight simulators experienced.
Appetizers, dinner stations, and two drinks – included in your registration fee – will be provided.
Shuttle service will be provided between the San Diego Convention Center and the Midway Museum.
Meeting Badge required for admission. Guest tickets may be purchased when registering for the meeting.
May I purchase tickets for my guest/s?
For the Opening Night Networking Event, you are unable to purchase a guest ticket.
For the Gala, you are able to purchase a guest ticket for $95 each when you register for IMMUNOLOGY 2019™.

General Information
Where may I eat while attending IMMUNOLOGY 2019™?
During exhibit hours, there are concessions open on the Exhibit Hall floor. Starbucks is also open and located near the Exhibit Hall entrance.
How can I get a letter of invitation?
For security purposes, letters of invitation will be sent only to individuals who are registered for the meeting. They can be requested during the registration process. After you have completed your registration, you will immediately be offered the opportunity to request a letter of invitation.
I am considering bringing my family with me.
Children age 13 and older are welcome to attend IMMUNOLOGY 2019™ and will receive complimentary registration (registration is on-site only) if accompanied by a registered adult and a school ID is provided. Children under age of 13 are not permitted to attend IMMUNOLOGY 2019™ or to enter the Exhibit Hall, session rooms, meeting room hallways, or social events.
Is there child care available?
Onsite child care will not be provided during IMMUNOLOGY 2019™. If you require a child care provider during the meeting, you may contact your hotel concierge for recommendations or explore the following options:

May I bring a non-scientist guest with me to the sessions?
Unfortunately, we do not have GUEST PASSES. All attendees must be registered in order to gain access to the sessions and Exhibit Hall.
Does AAI offer CME?
Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits are not offered for this meeting. AAI, however, adheres to conflict-of-interest policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education. AAI requires all speakers at AAI-sponsored meetings or programs to inform their audiences of their academic and professional affiliations, and to disclose any significant financial interests or other relationships they may have with the manufacturer(s) of any commercial product(s) discussed in their presentation. This information is required to be provided by speakers and is included in the back of the Scientific Program.
What is the dress code?
We want you to be comfortable so you can enjoy your meeting experience. Business casual dress is strongly encouraged. We suggest bringing a light sweater or jacket with you during the day as the meeting rooms are air-conditioned.
Do you record any of the sessions?
No sessions are recorded and recording of presentations by any means is strictly prohibited. Doing so may result in expulsion from the meeting.
Distribution of Handouts
AAI allows the distribution of promotional materials and approved related items from Exhibitors only in their booth. No materials may be distributed outside (hotels, Convention Center lobby area, session rooms, etc.) without permission.
Attendees are able to post job opportunities on the online Jobs Board. Please visit the page on posting to the Jobs Board for additional instructions.
Hotels
PLEASE NOTE: onPeak is the official housing service for IMMUNOLOGY 2019™. No other organization may claim to represent AAI for housing.
Are hotel discounts being offered?
Discounts are being offered through the IMMUNOLOGY 2019™ website only. Please visit the Hotel & Travel page to book your accommodations. If you contact the hotels directly, you will not be able to receive the AAI discount.
Hotel rate discounts end on April 5, 2019.
Will I receive confirmation of my hotel reservation?
Yes. A confirmation of your reservation will be sent to you, via email, immediately after making your reservation. The confirmation will come from the official housing company, onPeak.
PLEASE NOTE: A final confirmation with your hotel confirmation number will be sent within 2 weeks of your arrival. The confirmation will NOT come directly from the hotel at which you will be staying but from onPeak.
Will I be refunded if I have to cancel my hotel reservation?
Yes, a full refund will be provided as follows:

Is there any shuttle service to and from IMMUNOLOGY 2019™ hotels?
There is no transportation provided between the hotels and the Center. Most of the IMMUNOLOGY 2019™ hotels are within walking distance to the Center.
Photography
May I take photographs throughout the meeting?
Attendees are strictly prohibited from photographing and recording (audio or video) scientific sessions, including posters*. Violators will be asked to delete photographs or recordings, and may risk expulsion from the meeting.
* Authors are permitted to photograph their own posters.
Transportation
Are there any airfare discounts?
No.
How do I get from the airport to my hotel?
- SuperShuttle – Airport Reservations: 1-800-BLUE VAN (258-3826). Please visit the SuperShuttle website using this link for discounted rates.
- Taxis – Follow the signs leading to the Transportation Plazas. A Customer Service Representative will place you with the first available taxi. All taxis accept major credit cards.
- Transportation Network Companies – Lyft and Uber serve San Diego International Airport.
- FRED San Diego – Free Ride Everywhere Downtown (FRED) is a free ride-hailing service. The all-electric, open-air vehicles can be found cruising downtown San Diego from 7:00 AM – 9:00 PM weekdays and later on weekends. You can either stand at a corner and wave down one of the distinctive blue, five-passenger cars or download the app via the company website, and request a driver. FRED’s goal is to pick you up within 8 minutes! Handicap service is available.

Is there a business center?
A FedEx Office Business Center is located in the Convention Center in Lobby D.
Is there an ATM?
There are two ATMs located in Lobby B and Lobby E.
Are there public charging stations?
Devices can be charged at 1 of 27 charging stations, located along the lower level lobbies.
Convention Center Concierge
Located in Lobbies B and E, concierge services team is ready to assist you with everything from transportation to ticket sales to dining reservations. They can also assist you with find participating business offering discounts to attendees by showing their badge.
Is there a gender-inclusive bathroom?
The Convention Center offers a gender-inclusive bathroom, found in Lobby A.
Is there a nursing mothers’ lounge?
The Convention Center offers two lounges for nursing mothers. They are located in the Women’s Restroom outside of Exhibit Hall E and in the Women’s Restroom in Lobby A.
Where can I park?
There are 2 parking structures at the Convention Center. One is underneath the Convention Center and 1 is a stand alone building, on the East side of the Convention Center.
Is there Wi-Fi service?
Complimentary Wi-Fi can be accessed in all lobbies.
