Postdoctoral Fellow, Viral Immunology

Multiple postdoctoral positions are available in the laboratory of Dr. Jacob Kohlmeier, Department of Microbiology and Immunology at Emory University School of Medicine. Successful candidates will work on projects investigating cellular and molecular regulation of T cell memory in the lung, novel influenza vaccine platforms, and immune protection against respiratory viruses using both murine models and human samples. Fellows will be integrated into the strong training programs and robust immunology community across Emory.
Important Skills:
- Previous training and research experience in immunology, virology, or cell biology
- Ability to work independently and as an integral member of a team
- Strong background in multi-parameter flow cytometry and familiarity with murine models of infection are preferred
- Experience with tissue imaging, molecular biology, RNA- and ATAC-Seq, and/or genetic manipulation of cells and mice are desirable, but not required
Qualifications:
Applicants must have a PhD in Immunology or a related discipline in the Biological Sciences with a track record of peer-reviewed publications. Candidates are expected to have excellent oral and written communication skills and be highly motivated. Salary is commensurate with experience according to the NIH postdoctoral stipend scale.
