Postdoctoral Position in Immunology

University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
Chapel Hill, NC

Postdoc positions are immediately available in Vilen Lab at the University of North Carolina. Our lab focuses on the mechanisms underlying immune dysfunction in autoimmune disease specifically lupus, and with our recently funded NIH/DOD grants, we look for exciting postdocs who will do translational studies to assess whether lysosome dysfunction underlies human SLE and murine models of lupus. Our goals are to understand whether the underlying molecular mechanisms in murine lupus translate to human disease. Projects are available in murine or human aspects of lupus.

Successful candidates require a background in immunology and experiences in murine models or human translational research. A sound track-record of publishing, and strong internal motivation are essential. Experiences in flow cytometry/microscopy (multicolor, multiple cell types), animal models (injection, bleeding, organ processing) are preferred.
